Lysterfield Park

Lysterfield Park

Lysterfield Park, a public park in Greater Melbourne, Victoria is located. It is located approximately 30km (19 mi) south of Melbourne’s central business district. Lysterfield is also close. The 1,668 hectares (4.120 acres) of Dandenong Valley’s Churchill National Park together make the parks 1,668 ha (4.120 acres). These parks offer both recreational opportunities and refuge for native birds and reptiles.

Lysterfield Park was established in 1979 after the drainage system at Lysterfield Reservoir was decommissioned and the transfer of the drainage system to the National Park Service. Officially, the park was created on May 19, 1981. It covers an area of 1,151 hectares (2.840 acres). It was expanded in 1984, 1988, 1995.

Lysterfield Park hosted the 2006 Commonwealth Games mountain biking events.

You can ride XC or trail MTB on many trails. Trails indicate the difficulty of each trail. Trail management practices from 2012 to 2015 resulted in improved drainage and increased use of both man-made and natural components. Trail conditions are better.

Lysterfield is a popular MTB spot close to Melbourne. It’s known for its natural environment and variety of trails.

To make it easier for emergency responders to provide more precise location information, many emergency markers were placed in the park in 2008.
