Wick is mostly from a family of hospitality professionals. He started his career with many resort hotels such as Colombo Hilton where the chef further honed his cooking skills prior to moving to Australia. Always looking for new food skills and knowledge, Wick quickly worked his up to become a chef at various restaurants in Melbourne before deciding to venture independently to establish COCOMILS Cafe and subsequently, Shades Foods in Dandenong to become the owner and chef.
Originating of Sri Lanka, Wick first created his diverse culinary palette when he was a student at Ceylon hotel school, where he received his degree in Culinary Management and was awarded numerous awards and distinctions within just four years.
In his time in the hospitality industry, which spanned over a period of nearly 20 years Wick was awarded many titles, including Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef. Wick manages Shades Foods culinary team, in charge of the development of menus for cafes and overseeing the ongoing innovative process of efficiently managing large-scale catering events, ensuring that every dish is cooked using the highest levels of detail, precision and quality, ensuring the best dining experience to customers and patrons.
